I believe that counselling works because I have experienced the healing nature of talking therapy both as a client, and also as a qualified counsellor myself.
In my experience of working with clients from all different walks of life, who bring many different issues, I constantly see how effective it is to talk to someone who can fully hear you, and empathise with you, without judging or shaming you.
My job is to offer you a fresh perspective on the things that are bothering you, to observe things that you may not already be aware of, and to encourage you to embrace the here and now. I believe that self awareness is a key aspect in counselling, and therefore to living a full and happy life.
